This event has unfortunately been canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Please read the following message from Jim Pucci:

Good morning Ladies and Gents.
I hope all are well and safe and for those that live in an area that has allowed golf, been able to sneak in a round or 2. New Hampshire will start to ease some of the restrictions next week. Golf will be allowed with very strict guidelines and is only open for NH residents. It is unknown when that restriction will be lifted. Lodging is still closed in the entire state. The rumor is that this restriction will be lifted June 1st, but once again, be limited for NH residents only during this “phase,”. It is all here say at this point as what the Governor decides will be primarily based on the virus and what our neighboring states decide to do. Due to this uncertainty and the unknowns going forward, I have decided to cancel this years’ White Mountain Hickory Open. Please pass this along / share with those others in the Hickory circles. Some may get an email as well with this information. Stay safe, and I hope to see you at some point in the future at a Hickory event.
Best Regards,

Date: July 11
Location: Omni Mount Washington Hotel Course, Bretton Woods, N.H.

The Omni Mount Washington is again the site for one of New England’s most scenic hickory tournaments. Practice rounds will be offered the day before and players will be charged the cost of renting a cart. Practice round times may be made the week leading up to the tournament. Tee times for the tournament proper will begin at 10 a.m.  The entry fee for the event is $95 and must be sent with the entry form

The Open Division will play the course at a length of approximately 5,700 yards (White Tee markers). All other divisions (Senior, Super Senior & Ladies) will play the course at approximately 5,200 yards (Red Tee markers). The format will be stroke play with first place Gross and Net prizes awarded. SoHG or USGA handicaps are required for Net prizes. All hazards marked or unmarked (several tall grassy waste areas) will be played as Lateral Hazards. A minimum of four players in a division is required for prize distribution. Divisions may be combined if fewer than four have entered.  The Open division is anyone under the age of 59.  The Senior division is age 60-69. The Super Senior division is over age 70. A player may move up a division simply by entering which division he or she would like to play on the entry form.

Bretton Woods is easily accessible from three major airports for those planning to visit from outside the New England area. (Boston, Mass. – 2 hours 45 minutes; Manchester, N.H. – 1 hour 45 minutes; and Portland, Maine – 1 hour 45 minutes).  North Conway, N.H. has the most to offer for lodging, shopping, and restaurants and is 30 minutes south of Bretton Woods.
