The Hickory Golfers of Massachusetts and the Country Club of Greenfield cordially invite you to participate in the fifth annual Alexander Findlay/Massachusetts Hickory Open Championship, to be held at the Country Club of Greenfield, the Gateway Course to Hickory Golf in New England.
Location:
May is a beautiful time of the year in Greenfield and there are many local tourist sites, including historic Old Deerfield and Shelburne Falls. There is also a very classic 9 hole Alexander Findlay course, just a few miles away, The Northfield Golf Course, in Northfield, MA. It is a must play with “hickories”.

Course:
The historic Country Club of Greenfield was established in 1896, and moved to its present location in 1901. The first 9 holes were built by Alexander Findlay, who many consider to be the “Father of American Golf”. More than 100 courses are attributed to Findlay in the Northeast Region. The second 9 holes were built in 1913 by Ralph Martin Barton, who worked with C.B McDonald and Seth Raynor.
Format:
The Alexander Findlay Hickory Open Championship is a one day event with tee times starting at 10:30 AM, on “The Ole Course” of 5380 yds. 1st, 2nd and 3rd place, net and gross Stableford scoring winners will receive wall plaques. Low gross and net scores will have their names placed on the Alexander Findlay HO Championship Trophy.
Fee:
$55 per person (due at arrival)…with or without cart. Meals not included but can be ordered off the extensive Terrazza Restaurant menu after play. Club Swap tables available and no fee. There will be an informal raffle… if attendees would like to bring a modest raffle prize donation, half of the money raised will be raffled and half will go to defray costs of event.
